Here you will find some basic facts about how things operate at Drama Made Easy and answers to some frequently asked questions.
1) What are RAR files?
RAR files are files that have been compressed with WinRAR in order to save space and can be used to split files. I use WinRAR because Megaupload won’t let users with free accounts download files over 1GB so to get around that I split the file into 2 or more parts which can later be rejoined.
2) The videos won’t display correctly in my media player. I only get audio.
This happens because you are missing a codec that is required for the video to play. To find out more, check out the Playback page for answers to this question.
3) My videos play but it doesn’t play at full speed.
This problem usually occurs with HD video which require a specific codec or a faster processor to play back at full speed. Check out the Optimization section under the Playback page to help your videos play faster and decide if it’s time for an upgrade.
4) How fast are your downloads?
All of our downloads are currently hosted on Megaupload and the download speed will vary depending on what time of day you are downloading and what type of Megaupload account that you have if any. During heavy traffic hours downloads will be slower and during slow traffic hours downloads will be faster. As always, premium Megaupload accounts will have higher priority. Either way, chances are it’ll be faster than using torrent; especially on older dramas ^_^.
5) Is it possible to play part of a rar archive while the other part is downloading?
It is very possible. Just right-click the file and select “extract files”. After that you should see an option to “keep broken files”. Enjoy the first part of the video while the second one downloads!
